About the conference

Digital Learning - Service to knowledge

This first bilingual (English and French) IDL-2S conference in Mauritius, by its position on the world map and its aspiration to become a 'Knowledge Hub', aims to ponder and deliberate over the theme of distance teaching and learning in the region and synergize representations of its future evolution. In so doing, it encourages the development of e-learning in Mauritius.

The objective of any educational institution is to serve knowledge, for the training and development of students and learners, as well as to promote the activity of educators and researchers.

Over the past thirty years, scientific literature has already largely investigated the issues and practices related to the evolution of education interweaved with the use of digital technologies and networks. This major process in the world of education and training is not yet completed.

This conference instils a spirit of sharing and exchange on techniques, devices and practices in education and training, supported by digital technologies and networks. One of the tracks at the heart of this conference is to question these technologies and the practices and devices they enable and the way they serve knowledge, learners and teachers or trainers.

The expected paper submissions may deal with the understanding of e-learning, educational devices, distance interactions, pedagogical practices and models, training engineering approaches in contexts, the learning of contents and knowledge in distance training. Overall, the aim is to take stock of the pedagogical, didactic, engineering or organisational practices, and to discuss their development and prospects.

Service to knowledge of digital technologies leads us to deal with their uses in three orientations: technical, pedagogical and engineering. Submissions include, but are not limited to, three main tracks
